Who we are
Heine Propane has kept North Texas running since 2000. We're locally owned and operated, three generations in, and the people answering the phone, driving the trucks and setting the tanks are a team who live in the same five counties as the 7,000 homes and businesses we serve. Our customers rate us 4.9 stars on Google, and about one review in three is a story about a truck that showed up in an ice storm, on Thanksgiving, or at 10:30 at night.
What we believe
Our mission is short: we keep North Texas running, and we answer for it. That means three things we expect of everyone here, including the person reading this:
- We show up. Answer the call, arrive when it counts, and do exactly what you said.
- We stay. Treat every customer, teammate and neighbor like someone you'll know for twenty years. Because you will.
- We make it better. Never be satisfied with how it's done now. Ask how it could be better, then make it better.
The job
You are the voice of Heine Propane. When a customer calls, you are the one who picks up. On an ordinary day that is scheduling deliveries, setting up new accounts, taking payments, answering “how much propane do I have left” and “what does this charge mean,” and keeping the dispatchers and drivers pointed at the right houses in the right order. On a cold day it is 80 calls, half of them from people who are worried, and your job is to make every one of them certain that someone has it handled. Specifically:
- Answer and return customer calls and emails; set up accounts, schedule deliveries and service, take payments.
- Work in Cargas Energy (our account and delivery system), our phone system and HubSpot. We'll train you on all three.
- Read a customer's account and tell them what's going on with it in plain English.
- Explain prices, fees and what's included before the truck comes, so nobody is surprised by an invoice.
- Spot the same problem twice and tell us, so it stops happening a third time.
- Be here for the winter. November through February is when the phones are heaviest, so the office doesn't take planned vacation in those months. After-hours calls go to our managers, drivers and techs, not to you.
Who does well here
You have done phone-based customer work before and you liked it. Spanish is a plus. You can say “that's on us, here's what I'm going to do” without flinching and “I can't promise that” without losing the caller. You write a clear email in five sentences. You notice things. You want to be somewhere for a long time.
