How We Calculate
Every figure in this calculator is derived from publicly available EPA emissions factors and real-world fleet data.
Total diesel gallons = fleet size × days × miles ÷ MPG. Propane gallons = diesel gallons × 1.667 (energy equivalency ratio).
Diesel cost includes both fuel and DEF fluid ($0.20/gal). Propane requires no DEF, no DPF, and no regen cycles.
CO₂, NOx, and PM values computed from EPA g/gal emission factors then converted to pounds via unit conversion.
